Admissions & Enrollment

Nord Country School is a free, public K–8 charter school open to all eligible students. We welcome families who are interested in becoming part of our small, close-knit school community.

How Enrollment Works

Each year, Nord Country School holds an Open Enrollment Period for families interested in enrolling for the following school year. Applications must be submitted by the published deadline. If applications exceed the number of available spaces, a public random lottery will be held to determine enrollment and waiting-list placement.

Enrollment Priorities

When a lottery is necessary, enrollment priorities are given in the following order:

1. Siblings of currently enrolled students
2. Children of current Nord Country School staff
3. Children living within the Nord Community
4. Children of Nord Country School alumni
5. Children residing within the Chico Unified School District boundaries

Eligibility & Required Documents

Students must meet applicable California enrollment requirements. Families will be asked to provide documentation such as proof of age, residency, immunization/health records, and authorization for the school to obtain previous student records. Kindergarten students must be five years old on or before September 1 of the school year in which they enroll.
