Lexie Aceves, Kindergarten
I received my Bachelor’s degree in liberal studies in 2000 from Chico State University. Later I attended Chico State University and obtained my multiple subject teaching credential. At that time, I decided to be a stay at home mom until my youngest started kindergarten at Nord Country School (NCS). During my career as a stay at home mom I was an active classroom volunteer, PTO president, soccer coach, girl and boy scout leader and school board member for NCS. But in 2007, my amazing adventure in kindergarten began. I was hired as the kindergarten classroom aide and fell in love with this grade level. I was the classroom aide over the course of eight years having the pleasure to work with exceptional kindergarten teachers. In 2015, the stars aligned as my good friend and lead teacher was starting her family and my kids were growing up (as they do faster than you think). So, that year I team-taught in the afternoon and the following year I became the lead teacher.
I am the mother of three wonderful grown children. My oldest daughter attended fourth through sixth grade here when this was Nord Elementary School. The school district closed Nord Elementary in June 2005. But, thanks to an amazing group of teachers and community members (Including our current principal Kathy Dahlgren) they started our charter for NCS! Just in time for my middle son to start kindergarten. Since then, my youngest son, nieces, nephew and grandsons have all attended our school. This is a very special place, not just for my family but anyone who joins our Nord Country School family.
My passion is steadfast in the kindergarten classroom. Every year I am continuously impressed and inspired with how much growth takes place from the first day of kindergarten until I send them off ready for first grade. I can’t wait to meet and get to know each and every one of my new students!
